mnrega A view of community meeting organised to create awareness on MNREGA

Observing the present political and administrative environment in the region, state and nation Dharti has focused in MNREGA mobilisation programme to ensure that MNREGA will be effectively implemented in favour of eligible and potential beneficiaries with focus on tribals, dalits, women and persons with disability. Dharti has involved and sought support of community members, community leaders, panchayat members and MNREGA functionaries for better implementation of the flagship rural job scheme.

While doing so it follows the following strategy:

1. Awareness Drive about MNREGA Programme

Promotion of community led vigilance process through strengthening of village level vigilance committee

2. Mobilising Job Card Holders

Facilitating preparation of community based micro plan and ensuring its implementation on the basis of gram sabha approval

3. Capacity Building of Gram Sabha and Panchayat Members

This includes provisions of Act, application processes for getting wage work, payment norms, unemployment allowance, schedule of rate, shelf of project and unionisation for MNREGA. A movement has been organised for creating awareness and mobilising community groups around MNREGA.

4. Advocacy Initiatives

Simultaneously, Dharti has also worked on convergence approach and linked other development programmes with MNREGA

Achievements

  1. Prepared five microplans on the background of MNREGA programme for operational villages in Morena and Sheopur districts
  2. Total 438 new job card prepared in operational villages
